Sales Manager-Passenger Cars

The Sales Manager is responsible for running an efficient and profitable sales department. He will control costs and inventory, build a loyal clientele, efficient staff utilization, maintain good employee relationships, set and obtain sales and profit objectives through proper pricing, security, displaying and advertising and maintain sales records. He must also be an investment advisor and profit producer.
Duties and Responsibilities:  
Management-related:
Set forecast goals and objectives for the department and endeavor to achieve them.
Aim for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.
Develop and manage an annual operating budget for the sales department.
Participate in managers’ meetings as required.
Stay informed and adhere to local regulations that impact sales operations.

Personnel Related
Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all sales department staff.
Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees.
Provide assistance to employees as needed.
Conduct meetings with department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest 

Customer and Department Related
Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
Develop, enforce and monitor guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
Greet all customers promptly and give fair prices.
Handle all customer complaints.
Quality-check completed jobs.
Ensure that the showroom and customer waiting area are kept clean.
Account for all documents.
Control the performance of the department.
Control, efficiency and productivity controls and monthly forecasts.
Develop sales promotions
Analyze sales, gross expense, and inventory on a monthly basis tomaintain profit goals
Develop & administer an aggressive liquidation program whenever needed, to produce profit.
Coordinate a prompt, efficient and timely flow of paperwork
Monitor the location and care of catalogs and sales manuals
Monitor daily reports and sales productivity
Develop and produce Lost Sale Tracking Report.
Supervise stock order procedures.
Follow up on car orders to ensure availability
